Just a moment...
“The new LUMIX S1R full-frame camera is a game changer. The quality of the image files is breathtaking and the LUMIX S 24-105 mm lens is one of the sharpest lenses I have ever experienced.
I took the LUMIX S1R on an expedition to Puna de Atacama in Chile. Having such a lightweight, high resolution camera system was really liberating, as lugging heavy gear at high altitudes quickly saps your energy. The Atacama landscape is all about detail and subtlety of colour and the superb LUMIX S1R and LUMIX S 24-105mm F4 MACRO O.I.S. (S-R24105) lens allowed me to resolve intricate details to the sensor.
The 47-megapixel RAW files are exceptionally sharp, with great dynamic range and excellent colour rendition. In High Resolution mode, the resulting files are about 187-megapixels and because of the way they are captured – 8 shots combined into one – you get super high resolution image with stunning details. The new technology employed in Hybrid Log Gamma Photo mode gives an incredible dynamic range in images. You will have to see this for yourself to believe it.
The controls on the camera are well-thought out and I found it very intuitive. And although the camera is lightweight, it is solid, well-constructed and robust – perfect for landscapes and adventuring. I have never seen a mirrorless camera with such an amazing view finder – both in sharpness and colour rendition. It really makes composing images a joy.”
